Yavapai Silent Witness board of directors have decided to offer a $1,000.00 cash reward to any caller whose information leads to the arrest of a suspect in any felony crime where a firearm was used against the victim.

Long time "Catch 22" suspect Douglas Dishon has been arrested in Mexico. He was being investigated for the murder of his wife, Vicki Dishon, by Mexican officials. However, their investigation has ended and he will now be returned to the Unnited States. It is not known when he will be returned to Arizona to answer to charges in Yavapai County. Dishon worked and lived in the Dewey area and was arrested back in 2004 for child molestation and child abuse but failed to show up for a hearing on July 13, 2005. At that time a warrant was issued for his arrest and efforts to locate him have been ongoing.  Dishon has been featured in "Catch 22" for the past 4 years as well as on TV's America's Most Wanted. Silent Witness had received numerous calls over time indicating he lived in Mexico but none of the callers seemed to know just where.

Yavapai Silent Witness has teamed up with MATForce and has started a new program in all of the participating middle and high schools in Yavapai County in an attempt to make our schools safer. The new program is called "See It, Stop It" and is advertised in all of the schools with posters, banners and business cards. We are encouraging students and faculty to report criminal activity involving guns, drugs and violence to Silent Witness or their school resource officer. In addition to the new program Yavapai Silent Witness has now made it possible for tipters to report crime to Silent Witness by texting their information to.........Busted 411247.

The 25th Annual Yavapai Silent Witness Open was a major success. We had a full course with 144 players and some awsome prizes. Our thanks to all of the people and businesses who helped make the tournament one of the best ever.

AUCTION! Now you can help Silent Witness raise money to run this most effective Crime Prevention program. Batterman's Auction in Prescott is partnering with Silent Witness to help raise money. All you have to do is clean out the garage or do some spring cleaning. Take your unwanted stuff....cars, boats, art, furniture, antiques, firearms etc. (no clothes please) to Batterman's and tell them that it's for Silent Witness. They will sell the items and give Silent Witness 90% of the sale price. Now it's easy to help fight crime in Yavapai County. Batterman's have at least one auction a week and most of the time two and are located at 400 W. Gurley Street in downtown Prescott.

Yavapai Silent Witness breaks all time record. In 2008 YSW took calls that led to 224 felony arrests in Yavapai County and paid $29,500.00 in cash rewards.  We received more calls this year then ever before. The Yavapai County Sheriff's Office received the most calls in 2008 with 163 and PANT was second with 138. The Prescott police department followed PANT with 75 calls plus PANT was assigned 65 calls in the City of Prescott. The Prescott Valley police received 63 calls and Cottonwood followed PV with 15 calls. Camp Verde was next with 9 and Chino Valley followed them with 6 calls. Sedona and Clarkdale each received one call in 2008.

The next "Catch 22" begins May 1, 2010. Remember that each felon arrested is worth a $500.00 cash reward.

Take a look at the Most Wanted page and look at the lady wanted for fraud in Prescott Valley. Do you know this lady? If so call YSW we are offereing a cash reward for her arrest.

ARREST!!!!! Dispatchers at the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office in Prescott received two Silent Witness calls this morning before 09:30 about the where-abouts of Jose Acosta. He was featured in today's "Catch 22" and has been wanted for the last 3 years on child molestation charges. The callers said that they heard the advertisement on the radio and decided to call Silent Witness. Deputies from the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office were sent to an area in the Village of Oak Creek and a short time later identified Acosta and made the arrest. Tonight the streets are a little safer.

Yavapai Silent Witness goes home!. The program has returned to the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office after being away for the last 24 years. Yavapai County Sheriff Steve Waugh invited the program back to the YCSO in February 2008 stating that the program would have a better chance of representing all of Yavaapi County and it's residents if hosted by the YCSO. Yavapai Silent Witness Dirctor, Steve Skurja, and the Yavapai Silent Witness Board of Dirtctors agreed and moved the program back to the YCSO on February 11, 2008. Nothing will change says Skurja, the phone number and address will remain the same and we will continue to take calls 24/7 and pay out cash rewards monthly just like we have for 24 years.
